Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: April 2026

This page explains our affiliate relationships, advertising arrangements, and material connections in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255). Transparency about how we make money helps you evaluate our content.

How MortgageMathLab Makes Money

MortgageMathLab is a free educational website. We do not charge users to access our calculators, content, or tools. Operating costs are funded through:

Display advertising. We display ads served by Google AdSense and similar advertising networks. We earn revenue when ads are viewed or clicked. We do not control which specific ads appear, and ads are placed based on visitor data and the content of the page.

Affiliate partnerships (limited). At times, we may participate in affiliate marketing programs where we earn a referral fee if a visitor clicks a link, signs up for a service, or makes a purchase. When affiliate links appear in our content, they are clearly disclosed in or near the relevant article or tool. As of the last updated date above, affiliate relationships on this site are limited and generally restricted to clearly labeled partner tools or services.

Widget licensing. Our Pro widget product (offered separately at /widgets) charges a subscription fee. Customers who purchase this product fund a portion of our operations. Widget revenue does not influence our editorial content, calculator outputs, or rankings.

What "Material Connection" Means

A "material connection" exists when a publisher has a financial or other relationship with a product or service it discusses. Per FTC guidelines, material connections must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. When we have a material connection with anything we link to or recommend, we will disclose it on or near the relevant content using language such as "affiliate link," "sponsored," "paid partnership," or similar.

What Does Not Apply Here

MortgageMathLab does not currently:

• Receive payment from mortgage lenders, brokers, or originators in exchange for favorable mentions, rankings, or recommendations.

• Receive payment from insurance carriers in exchange for favorable mentions.

• Operate any rate-quoting or lead-generation business where we are paid per qualified lead.

• Recommend specific lenders, brokers, advisors, or other professionals as a paid placement.

If any of these change in the future, this disclosure will be updated, and the relevant content will carry an in-context disclosure.

Editorial Independence

Our content is created independently of advertisers and affiliate partners. The opinions, analyses, and recommendations expressed in our articles, calculators, and rankings are our own. We do not allow advertisers, affiliates, or sponsors to influence the substance of our content.
