Advertising Policy

MortgageMathLab is supported by advertising. This policy explains how we use advertising, our standards for ad placement, and the firewall between advertising and editorial content.
Ad Networks We Use
We display ads served by third-party advertising networks, primarily Google AdSense. These networks select which specific ads appear based on visitor data, page content, and their own algorithms. We do not directly negotiate with individual advertisers for most placements.
Ad Placement Standards
We aim to display ads in a way that does not interfere with reading or using our calculators. Specifically:
• Ads are always visually distinct from editorial content.
• We do not use deceptive ad units that mimic our calculator outputs, navigation, or content blocks.
• We do not place pop-ups, pop-unders, or interstitials that block content unexpectedly.
• We do not use audio ads that auto-play with sound on page load.
• Ads should not crowd out the interactive functionality of our calculators.
Prohibited Ad Categories
While we do not control every ad served by third-party networks, we configure our ad accounts to block or disallow:
• Deceptive financial products (e.g., guaranteed-approval loans, payday loans designed to mislead).
• Misleading "you have been pre-approved" style mortgage offers.
• Adult or sexually explicit content.
• Gambling promotions in jurisdictions where prohibited.
• Weapons, illegal substances, and other content prohibited by our ad network policies.
If you see an ad on our site that appears to violate this policy, please contact us so we can report it to the network.
Editorial Independence
Advertisers do not control or influence our editorial content. Our calculator outputs, state data, rankings, and articles are produced independently. We do not adjust calculator default values, ranking positions, or article content in response to advertiser interests.
Sponsored Content Disclosure
If we ever publish content that is sponsored, paid for, or written in collaboration with a commercial partner, it will be clearly labeled as such (e.g., "Sponsored," "Paid Partnership," "Advertisement"). As of the last updated date above, we do not publish sponsored articles.
Personalized Advertising and Your Choices
Some ads on our site are personalized based on your interests as inferred from your browsing activity. You can opt out of personalized advertising:
